I love Christian fiction but I am a bit picky. I don’t really like the typical romance, sappy, happy ending kind of fiction where you know what is going to happen about 3 chapters in. So when I received this book to read and review I was not super excited. An Amish Christian fiction….umm not my usual speed. However I was totally surprised because I really, really enjoyed the book. I loved the characters and found the descriptions of Amish life and insight into their beliefs fascinating. The story is not predictable, at least not completely and it does deal with tough life issues.
I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to tracking down some more books by Cindy Woodsmall. It was a nice, nice surprise. It is an easy read too but good writing. I hope this will be a series because I am interested to see what happens next. I want to know how things turn out for these characters I fell in love with.
